can someone plz explain how death nova works its a spell for the necromancer. i have it equipped i just dont understand the spell itself says it does damage i just dont get it.

Death Nova is an enchantment spell; you cast it on allies.
If an ally enchanted with Death Nova dies, Death Nova activates and deals its damage.

An often used application is with Bone Minions. Death Nova is cast on a minion and triggers when the minion dies - dealing about 105 damage and inflicting poison on adjacent foes.

I haven't tried using it, but when I made Pyre a ranger/necro and gave him the spell, he casts it on the player character fairly often.

Are you close to dying fairly often? He's probably wasting it. Used on Livia, she casts it almost exclusively on her minions which makes her a very effective minion bomber. She's better at knowing which minions have it already and which don't than I am when I run my own MB build.

Heroes prioritize DN on allies who are close to dying; I believe it's some sort of health threshold. This makes it incredibly useful for heroes who can and will target minions who have low health and there's no consequence in them dying. It's the basis of the "Minion Bomber" hero build, one of the most effective hero builds in the game today.

Those are good points; I may have to try giving the spell to Livia.

Also, I get a kick out of Pyre using the "corpse teleport" spell frequently; maybe partly to heal himself?

One corpse teleport skill (Consume Corpse) gives both health and energy, so Pyre could use it for either or both

Death Nova as said already is far better on a heros bar than your own. Godly AI is able to select targets without thought or hesitation.

Would also do a lot better with a minion bomber for increased damage output and not wasting corpses on a Traversal Ranger,but I digress.

No, it's okay. I probably needed the suggestion to make a hero into a minion bomber instead of using corpse traversal for Pyre as I am now. Thanks.
